Have you heard of Read Scripture yet? If not, you are missing out on something really incredible. Read Scripture is an App, but it’s so much more than that. It’s a part of The Bible Project. Here is a little introduction video that is a great place to start.
So why would you want yet another Bible app for your device? Good question. The answer, it’s more that just reading through the Bible.
I have been a follower of Christ since I was 8. Over the years I have dug deeper and deeper into scripture, including Bible College. I have to say that I have never seen a better App for reading through the Bible nor I have a I seen a more engaging way to do so.
The Bible Project and the Read Scripture App engage with illustrations and videos in a way that help readers understand the whole of the word, the entire story and how all the parts fit together. For three of my girls this has been a bit of an awakening. I had them start using the APP about 3 weeks ago. In my daughter’s words “it does not feel like I am reading random names and events, I see how it all connects and how it’s all about God and his rescue plan”.
I think that is the beauty of the App. It’s clean, it’s scripture, and it’s these really great videos used at just the right moments. Either to summarize or dive deeper into a topic, a person, or a doctrine. It’s biblically sound and very, very well done.
You can go through the Bible in a year and go through Psalms about 3 or so times.
If you have not had a chance to check it out yet, please do. Commit to stick with it for at least Genesis and see what happens. I have found that reading the passages for the day and then switching to the Bible App (You Version) and listening to the same scripture has been impactful on my relationship with Christ and the way I approach everything. Being inundated with scripture does things you cannot even imagine. It’s supernatural.
As a bonus, check out this really, really interesting discussion. There are not many videos like this one, which is a shame, the way they handled these difficult topics as well done. I hope they do more like this.
